Frequently Asked Questions about the Library

COMING TO THE LIBRARY

Students are welcome before school, after school, during Advisory (with a pass), lunch time (with a library pass), and during class (with a pass from a teacher) or with a class for instruction.

When do I need a pass to come to the library?

Passes required to come to the library during lunch time, advisory, and class time.

• Highlander Time: 
  • To come to the library during highlander time students must get a pass from the library.  Passes are given out the afternoon and morning before the desired Highlander time.
  • Students who come during advisory must sign in at the reference desk and stay in the library for the remainder of the period.
• Lunch time & Class time:
  • All students must sign in at the reference desk. 
  • Students who come to the library during Lunch Time must stay in the library the entire lunch period.

How do I get a pass to come to the library?

To come to the library during highlander time students must get a pass from the library.  Passes are given out the afternoon (lunch-after school) and morning (7:30-8:10am) before the desired Highlander time.

PRINTING

How do I print in the library?

• Students may print school materials in black and white in the library for free  Copies are for school assignments only.  No packets or full texts.   
• Directions to print in black and white are posted around the library and by the copy machine.
• Color printing is available, if time and staffing permits.  Color printing is $1 per page.  To print in color you must ask one of the library staff members for assistance.

Checkouts, renewals, & overdue books:

• The loan period is 3 weeks.

• Materials may be renewed as many times as needed unless another student has placed a hold on the book.  Email the librarians or come to the library circulation desk. You do not need to have the book with you to renew materials.

• Although there is no limit to the number of books you may check out be thoughtful & respectful of our community.

  • Consider what you can be responsible for taking care of and return on time.

  • Materials will be marked as lost 30 days after the due date.  Students will be charged a replacement fee for lost library materials.
