WHEN SEARCHING FOR A TOPIC:
- Remember to use quotation marks for two or more words that you want to keep together
- "High school" or "climate change"
CHOOSING WHICH SOURCE TO USE:
- The top four databases in the Home tab are the strongest for most topics
- ProQuest Central is especially stellar for newspapers
USING NON-DATABASE SOURCES:
- Google Scholar
- Ensure validity, credibility, relevance
- Orgs and Edu are not necessarily the end all, be all anymore
- Check the "About Us" sections to see what the page/group is all about
IMAGES:
- Do not just Google!
- Anytime you use a database, those images are already cleared for use - just make sure to cite them
- If you need to not use a database, come chat with your friendly librarians on how not to steal media
GENERAL REMINDERS:
- Remember to pay attention to dates! Unless you need a historical reference, keep it within the last 2-5 years
